Requesting Account Deletion: To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, please use our account deletion request form or contact us at lynn@sonotechniquesacademy.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will process your request within 30 days and confirm when your information has been deleted or de-identified from our active systems, except where we are required by law or have another legitimate reason to retain certain information.


7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, maintain business and legal records, resolve disputes, protect our platform, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

  • Account Information: Account information is retained while your account is active. Following account deletion, it is deleted or de-identified from our active systems within 30 days, unless continued retention is required for legal, security, fraud prevention, compliance, or dispute-resolution purposes.
  • Payment Information: Payment processing information is retained by Stripe according to its own data retention practices. Sono Techniques Academy does not store complete payment card numbers or card security codes. Limited transaction, billing, and subscription records may be retained as necessary for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
  • Learning Progress and Usage Data: Learning progress, module activity, quiz attempts, flashcard activity, resource usage, and related internally recorded application events are retained while your account is active so that we can provide progress tracking and educational features. Following account deletion, this information is deleted or de-identified from our active systems within 30 days, subject to applicable legal and operational exceptions.
  • Communication Records: Email communications, support inquiries, and related records may be retained for up to two years for customer service, dispute resolution, and legal compliance purposes.
  • Security and Diagnostic Information: Security, diagnostic, error, and system records may be retained for a reasonable period necessary to investigate technical issues, prevent fraud or misuse, maintain system security, and comply with legal obligations.
  • De-identified Information: We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably be associated with an individual user for reporting, research, service improvement, and operational purposes.

When you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, except where we are required by law or have another legitimate reason to retain certain information.

Certain information may remain temporarily in secure system backups until those backups are overwritten through our normal backup and recovery processes. Information retained in backups is not used for ordinary business operations.
